LIYD proudly congratulates and applauds the following 5 individuals who have achieved top placements in the nation in their field of studies who exemplify hard work, and intelligence, in their disciplinary:

  1. Eric Liu - Biology Club President, who was one of four individuals who represented the U.S. team in international biology Science Olympiad in the Philippines and achieved Silver Medal for the U.S.

  2. Jason Yin - Instructor in our Physics Club and Science Olympiad Club, Jason was one of the four individuals who has been selected to represent the U.S. in international Earth Science Olympiad.

  3. Harry Gao, President of our Physics Club and Math Club, has achieved top 20 in the field of Physics who has been selected to go to the U.S. Physics Camp in the University of Maryland this summer

  4. Tina Xing - Co-President of the Science Olympiad Club, has achieved top 40 in the U.S. in the field of Earth Science. Great Job!

Math/Coding Clubs

  • **Coding Club**

    We aim to introduce programming basics for club members, like learning different programming languages (Python, C++, Java, etc.). Students may learn to apply their knowledge through making games, websites, etc.

    This club is an LIYD Flagship Club!

  • Math Club

    We aim to kickstart your competitive math career by providing you with necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in competitions such as the AMC 8, AMC 10, and MATHCOUNTS!

  • Math Modeling

    We aim to equip students with math modeling knowledge, like making model assumptions, constructing mathematical models, and performing data analysis.

Science Clubs

  • Astronomy Club

    In Astronomy Club kids learn about the deep wonders of the universe, stars and planets.

  • Biology Club

    We aim to teach general biology, explore its applications in different fields of science, and offer preparation and tips for biology events in Science Olympiad through interactive and engaging activities.

  • Physics Club

    We aim to work collaboratively with peers and students to strengthen physics knowledge and skills. We also hope to inspire younger students by introducing them to the fundamentals of physics and science in an engaging and accessible way.

  • Science Olympiad

    We aim to give students a space to ask questions related to SciOly competition prep or binder/note-sheet making. Students are free to ask for test-taking tips.

Engineering Clubs

  • Engineering Club

    TBC: We aim to work collaboratively with peers and students to strengthen physics knowledge and skills. We also hope to inspire younger students by introducing them to the fundamentals of physics and science in an engaging and accessible way.
