Math Club

Hello, and welcome to the Math Club. The co-founders of this course are Amy Chen and Katherine Liang. This course is going to kickstart your competitive math career by providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in competitions such as the AMC 8, AMC 10, and MATHCOUNTS. Our classes establish a fast-paced, engaging, and hands-on learning environment for our students, who have the opportunities to reckon with math exercises both independently and in collaboration with others.

  • Harry Gao, President

    Harry is in the Class of 2027 at Ward Melville High School. Harry has participated in MAA math competitions for six years, receiving the Distinguished Honor Roll on the AMC10 and qualifying for the USAJMO (USA Junior Math Olympiad) competition. In addition, Harry has been a teaching assistant in competitive math courses for organizations such as the Three Village STEM Foundation. He also won a silver medal in the USAPhO (USA Physics Olympiad), placing in the top 104 nationally and achieving the best performance in New York State. Outside of academics, Harry is a competitive swimmer and a musician, having performed as a pianist and vocalist for various events.

  • Amanda Liang, Instructor

    Amanda is part of the class of 2027 at Ward Melville High School. She has participated in the AMC 8 and 10 for the past 3 years. Throughout junior high school, she was an active member of the Gelinas math team club. Additionally, Amanda participated in several competitions through math team such as MoMath. She hopes to share her passion for math with her students by teaching math club. 

  • Victoria Chen, Instructor

    Victoria is in the Class of 2028 attending Gelinas Junior High School. She has attended various mathematics competitions, including the American Mathematics Competition 8 and 10, achieving the top 3 scores in her school. She has also been part of her school math team in both seventh and eighth grade, and aided her team in obtaining 4th place at last year's annual MoMathlon competition. Aside from mathematics, Victoria is also involved in swimming, violin, singing, and other extracurriculars.
