Kindness & Compassion
The goal of our club is to lend a helping hand to people in need in our community.
Our club will function as a bridge between our clubs and community services. Some of our community service events include: beach cleanups in coordination with Brookhaven Town, as well as making various food and toiletry donations to churches and local organizations in need. Our club will help organize, coordinate and support different events with other clubs to better serve our community.

The LIYD Community Outreach Club successfully organized two sessions of its annual beach clean-up events at West Meadow Beach this year. These events brought together dedicated volunteers who worked collaboratively to help preserve the local environment and keep the shoreline clean and welcoming for the community.
We are deeply grateful to all participants for their time, effort, and commitment. Their hard work and enthusiasm made these clean-up efforts both impactful and meaningful, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.

The LIYD Community Outreach Club organized annual beach clean-up event at West Meadow Beach. We sincerely thank all of our volunteers for their time and dedication in helping keep our beach clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

The LIYD Community Outreach Club is deeply grateful for the generous contributions from our donors (see list below). We have collected $300 gift cards and 10 gift baskets that will be donated to the Hope house in Port Jefferson and the St James RC Church in Setauket.

Sarah Wu, Co-Founder and President
Sarah Wu is in the Class of 2027 at WMHS. Among her many hobbies, she enjoys exercising, cooking and baking besides tennis. In her spare time, Sarah browses the internet for various recipes to cook and bake. Outside of cooking and baking, Sarah plays the clarinet and piano. She will in all state symphonic band 2026 playing clarinet. Sarah has received the President’s Voluntary Service Gold Award for 2022-2025, Brookhaven Town Youth Award and Suffolk County Youth Week Award. In the future, she wishes to become a doctor in order to help the people in need.

Isabelle Chen, President
Isabelle is in the class of 2027 at Ward Melville High School. She was a member of National Junior Art Honor Society at Murphy, and has received gold and silver for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. She taught herself how to crochet and enjoys drawing, painting, and reading in her spare time. In addition, Isabelle plays clarinet and has recently taken up the saxophone.

Sandy Zhao, Vice President
Sandy is in the class of 2031 currently at Paul J. Gelinas middle school. Sandy has received PVSA since 5th grade. She has co-organized apple fundraising event for several years and donated more than $3000 to Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Sandy plays on the track and field team at school. During her free time, she likes to draw, read, and play sports like soccer and badminton.
