Astronomy Club
The Astronomy Club provides a fun and engaging way to explore some of the most interesting facets of physics, chemistry, and even biology. By exploring the various fields necessary for studying astronomy, and providing valuable experience with useful software tools, this club cultivates more than just a more holistic understanding of our universe and the laws that govern it. The lecture component takes a deep dive into some of the most interesting fields in modern astronomy, with content ranging from black holes and quasars to planets and the search for extraterrestrial life. In order to provide students with a more grounded and practically useful grasp of astronomy, students will also be taught how to analyze raw astronomical data, utilize astronomical databases, and use image analysis software. Interactive activities will be included to help students better understand and apply their growing knowledge in a fun way.
